About Chinese education system

As I see it, Chinese education system has the following disadvantages.

In the first place, theory is divorced from practice. Though our country has been advocating quality-oriented education, but it seems hard to conduct it.

One of the most important reasons is the lack of adequate test system to match up this advocation. Students are still struggling for higher score, which is also a significant criterion to judge the capability of students and a main expectation parents to their children. I’ m saying that out test system is wholly useless. In some degree, it can merely test the capacity of a student in learning certain subject, or even just the reciting ability, but not the ability to solve the practical problems. Many students may be confused about where and how to use their knowledge after graduation. It indicates that school education cannot meet the social needs to a large extend, which leads to such a phenomenon that great many graduates face unemployment and a lot of work remain not done.

We also find that some straight-A students lack the ability in social intercourse, and are insufficient in social experience and poor in physical quality. The university entrance exam may strangle the dreams of lots of students and the possibility for them to gain a better

prospect.

Another disadvantage of Chinese education system is the uneven distribution of education resources, including financial input, teachers and any other factors which will have an influence on the quality of education. The educational condition in west part of China is far worse than that of the east, and the gap also exists between cities and rural areas. And the educational difference will definitely expand the gap between the west and east part of China, and between cities and countries in development of many other aspects.

The above are some opinions of mine on Chinese education system. I have to say that some respects of our education system should be improved, but we ought to see that our government has been trying to do so. It will be a long path to go.
