1. This Standard applies to flanges for pipelines and fittings, and also to connecting flanges for fittings, machines, devices, branch pipes of devices and pressure tanks designed for nominal pressure Рnom from 0.1 to 20.0 MPa (from 1 up to 200 kgf/cm2) and medium temperature from 20 to 873 K (from -253 to 600 °С), and also to flanges with liners made from fluoroplastic-4 designed for nominal pressure Рnom from 0.1 to 20.0 MPa (from 1 to 200 kgf/cm2) and medium temperature from 73 to 473 K (from -200 to 200 °С), and may be used for their certification.

This Standard does not apply to flanges for pipelines of transport machines if these flanges are not designed for connection of fittings or general-duty devices, and also to flanges standardized in accordance with GOST 1536-76 and GOST 4433-76.

The requirements of clauses 1 to 3; 5; 6 and 10 to 12 of this Standard are obligatory, other requirements are recommended.

(Amended Wording, Amendment No. 5).

2. Flange types and key parameters shall comply with those specified in table 1, the connecting dimensions, the dimensions and modifications of sealing surfaces shall comply with those specified in figs. 1 to 6 and in tables 2 to 11, except for dimensions of tenon-mortise sealing surfaces for fluoroplastic liners, which shall comply with those specified in fig. 6 and in table 12.

3. Tolerance range of fluoroplastic liner locations in conjugated components shall correspond to those specified in table 13.

4. It is allowed to manufacture flanges of other designs with other modifications of sealing surfaces, including those with sealing grooves on a connecting projection or weld ring, with obligatory performance of connecting dimensions in accordance with tables 2 to 11.

5. Nominal bores shall be in accordance with GOST 28338-.

7. It is allowed to manufacture square flanges of all modifications, having 4 bolt (or stud) holes for Рnom ≤ 4.0 МPа (40 kgf/сm2).

8. Dimension tolerances for D and B:

shall be of the 9-th class of accuracy in accordance with GOST 265-85 for cast-iron and cast steel flanges;

shall be in accordance with GOST 2590-88 and GOST 2591-88 for flanges made from rolled metal of usual accuracy (В);

shall be of the 2-nd class of accuracy in accordance with GOST 14792-80 for flanges made by a method of oxygen and arc-plasma cutting;

shall be of Т4 class of accuracy in accordance with GOST 7505- for pressed flanges made from strip by bending method with the subsequent joint welding and hot straightening; and in this case there is allowed the weld reinforcement which shall not be taken into account during determination of the maximum deviation;

shall be in accordance with h16 when manufacturing by other methods. (Amended Wording, Amendment No. 5). 9. (Removed, Amendment No. 3).

10. Maximum deviations of nominal dimension h shall be: ±1 mm for h = 2 mm; ±2 mm for h > 2 mm.

For cast flanges the allowed dimension h is: of no less than 2 mm for Dnom ≤ 32 mm and of no less than 3 mm for Dnom > 32 mm. (Amended Wording, Amendment No. 3).

12. For connections of type A, in accordance with GOST 14140-81, the positional

tolerance of holes d axes (dependent tolerance) in diametrical expression shall be of no more than, mm:

1.0 for holes of 11 mm in diameter;

2.0 for holes from 14 to 26 mm in diameter; 3.0 for holes from 30 to 45 mm in diameter; 4.0 for holes of 52 and 56 mm in diameter; 6.0 for holes from 62 to 78 mm in diameter.

When manufacturing flanges with threaded holes (type B in accordance with GOST 14140-81), the positional tolerance of holes d axes (dependent tolerance) in diametrical expression shall be of no more than, mm:

0.5 for holes of 11 mm in diameter;

1.0 for holes from 14 to 26 mm in diameter; 1.6 for holes from 30 to 45 mm in diameter; 2.0 for holes of 52 and 56 mm in diameter; 3.0 for holes from 62 to 78 mm in diameter. (Amended Wording, Amendment No. 1).
