Manual for installation of base plate for actuator (for reference to customer)

(a) Base plate for actuator as assembled

(b) 4pc of jack bolt is attached to side (MHI scope)

① Concrete casting until FL-1970

② Direction of base plate shall be matched on building reference line. Top plate of base plate has center marking line. Customer shall install base plate within ±1mm (target)

③ Marking on proper position. Drilling for jack up bolt. Fix jack up bolt by mortar or chemical anchor.

④ Londitudinal and lateral 8pc of turn-buckle shall be set

⑤ Adjust FT-270 by using jack up bolt and turn-buckles. Center marking also adjusted. Customer adjust position±1mm.(MHI will check at site)

⑥ Base plate fixed by (A)8pc and (B)4pc. (A) and (B) shall be welded on reinforcing bar.

Detail of supporting mold steel

⑦ Frame of base plate shall be fixed on overhanging reinforcing bar. Using

supporting mold. (Customer shall make ready this overhanging of reinforcing bar on the bottom of base plate )

⑧ Bolt head parts shall be protected by masking

⑨ Reinforcing steel bar shall be placed between bar on basement and base plate.

⑩ Concrete casting until FL-470.

⑪ Remove upper plate and make the back side clean (MHI scope)

⑫ Upper plate setting on building reference line (☆). Center marking and leveling(☆☆☆). Positioning of firing direction shall be done (☆☆).(Nut adjusting on and below top plate ) (MHI scope)

⑬ Center line of upper plate shall be extended and piston center A is decided .This line is used as center line of crash simulator.

⑭ Around concrete casting shall be done .(FLO~FL-470)

⑮ Grout (non-shrink mortar ) injected on the back side of upper plate .(FL-270~FL-470)

⒈Purpose

This document makes clear how to measure rail and rail base plate positioning.

2. Used gauge

Transit compass, Auto-leveler, Square gauge(1000*600) Piano wire(0.4mm), steel tape measure(JIS 1st class) , Level gauge .

3 .Target of precision

Customer(building and foundation) target: ±1mm

MHI(secondary positioning ) target ±0.2mm

Grout between rails shall be kept within ±3mm(see below)

4 .Measuring method

① stretch piano wire on center line.

② Confirm the level of top face of rail by Auto-leveler and level gauge.

③ Jig for rail is used between rails.

④ Square gauge and jig for rail are used to measure rail positioning

IF positioning is OK , welding shall be done

Arrangement of rail shall be refered on MHI drawing .(important)

5.Installtion example of rail and rail base plate (1)

5.1. Set rail support structure.

5.2. Set rail and rail base plate , adjust position by jig for rail and adjusting bolts. Measuring primary position and directing of correcting work by MHI.

(When correcting work is needed , correcting work is customer scope .)

5.3. Fix rail and rail base plate by rail fixation jig, set fixing mold steel and

reinforcing steel bar.

5.4.

Concrete casting to FL±0.(Grout 25mm)

5.5.

After cut rail support structure, concrete casting to FL+285.Measuring

secondary position and correcting work by MHI.

5.6.

After confirmation by MHI, non shrink mortal shall be injected.
