一曲新词酒一杯，去年天气旧亭台。夕阳西下几时回。

A song filled with new words, a cup filled with old wine,

The bower is last year’s, the weather is as fine.

Will last year reappear as the sun on decline?

无可奈何花落去，似曾相识燕归来。小园香径独徘徊。

Deeply I sight for the fallen flowers in vain;

Vaguely I seem to know the swallows come again.

In fragrant garden path alone I still remain.

沙:一作“纱”。

无可奈何：不得已，没有办法。

似曾相识：好像曾经认识。（形容见过的事物再度出现。后用作成语，即出自晏殊此句。）

燕归来：燕子从南方飞回来。

小园香径：花草芳香的小径，或指落花散香的小径。

独：副词，用于谓语前，表示“独自”的意思。

【诗意】

听一支新曲喝一杯美酒，还是去年的天气旧日的亭台，西落的夕阳何时才能回来？

花儿总要凋落让人无可奈何，似曾相识的春燕又归来，我独自在花香小径里徘徊。

【诗人简介】

晏殊（991-1055）字同叔，抚州临川（今属江西）人。景德中赐同进士出身。官至同中书门下平章事兼枢密使。其词擅长小令，语言婉丽。仅存《珠玉词》及清人所辑《晏元献遗文》。

Yan Shu(991-1055), also named Tongshu (courtesy name), was a native of Linchuan, Fuzhou (in present-day Jiangxi Province). He passed the imperial examination during the Jingde period in the Song Dynasty, and the highest position he held in the government was chancellor in charge of both government and military affairs. He was good at xiaoling, a type of Song lyrics composed of no more than 58 characters, and his language are beautiful and mild. The only existing

lyrics of his are collected in the Lyrics of Zhuyu and the Lost Writings of Yan Yuanxian, the latter compiled by people in Qing Dynasty.
