英语中的让步状语从句

让步状语从句是状语从句中的一种，一般翻译为“尽管、虽然、即使、无论……”，有我们日常生活中用的“退一步说……”的意味。

常用的引导词有though, although, even if, even though。此外，还有 as, while, whether…or…，no matter wh-, wh-ever。 i. though, although even if, even though可以通用。 当用到这些连接词（包括paragraph 1中的所有词）时，后面的从句不能有but（如同because后不用so是一样的），但是可以跟yet连用。

his personality is like a boy, even though he is 75 years old.

although it’s raining, they are still working on the farm. ii. as用在让步状语从句中必须要倒装，将表语、状语或动词原形置于句首，省略表语中的冠词。eg:

1. although he is a child, he knows a lot. =child as he is, he knows a lot.

2. even though it rained heavily, he came to school on time. =heavily as it rained, he came to school on time. 3. though we may fail, we will never give it up. =fail as we may, we will never give it up. 而though可以和as同样来使用，也可以不倒装。

iii. while一般用在句首，whether…or… “不管是……还是……”

while i like you, it doesn’t mean i will marry you. whether you are reading or doing your homework,do keep quiet.

iv. no matter wh-, wh-ever，即： no matter what = whatever no matter who = whoever no matter when = whenever no matter where = wherever no matter which = whichever no matter how = however

只有在引导让步状语从句的时候，才可以这样来转换，因为wh-ever还可以引导名词性从句。其判断的依据是，让步状语从句中间会有逗号隔开，名词性从句没有逗号。

也就是说，有逗号no matter wh-, wh-ever皆可，无逗号只用wh-ever。

this is a very interesting book. i’ll buy it, however much it may cost.

= …, no matter how much it may cost. whoever breaks the law, he will be punished. =no matter whobreaks the law, …

若此句换成主语从句whoever breaks the law will be punished.

再不能替换成no matter who…的形式。

do not give your children whatever they want.(此宾语从句中部能替换成no matter what)
