My Favorite Book: Snow White
My favorite book of all time is the fairy tale Snow White. I just love everything about it – the kind-hearted princess, the magical mirror, the seven dwarfs, and of course, the friendly forest animals! Whenever I read it, I get totally lost in the magical world.
The story begins with the beautiful princess Snow White, who has skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony wood. Her vain and wicked stepmother is the Evil Queen. The Evil Queen is super jealous of Snow White's beauty, so she orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. But the huntsman can't bring himself to do it because Snow White is so sweet and kind. Instead, he tells her to run away and never come back.
So poor Snow White has to flee all alone into the deep, dark forest. She's scared at first, wandering through the shadowy trees, but then she meets the cutest little forest critters! There are bunnies, birds, chipmunks, and even a friendly deer. Snow White starts singing with her gorgeous voice, and all the animals come right up to her. I wish animals would be that friendly to me! From
then on, the forest animals are Snow White's best friends and they protect her.
After walking a long way, Snow White finds a tiny little cottage deep in the woods. She goes inside to look around, and everything is so small – there are seven little chairs, seven little beds, and seven little plates on the table. Snow White is
exhausted, so she eats a few bites from each little plate and then falls asleep across a few of the tiny beds.
Meanwhile, the seven dwarfs who live in the cottage come home from working in the diamond mines all day. When they see that somebody has been eating their food and messing up their beds, they are shocked! But then they find Snow White sleeping there, and they can't resist her sweet face. So the dwarfs let her stay with them in exchange for doing their housework. Snow White keeps their cottage so clean and neat.
For a while, Snow White lives happily with her new dwarf friends – Sleepy, Grumpy, Bashful, Sneezy, Happy, Dopey, and Doc. She's safe and protected. But one day, the Evil Queen finds out that Snow White is still alive! She disguises herself as an old peddler woman and tricks Snow White into taking a bite of a delicious-looking poisoned apple. As soon as Snow White tastes it, she falls into a deep, deathlike sleep.
The poor dwarfs can't wake her up, no matter how hard they try. They are heartbroken, so they place her in a beautiful glass coffin in the forest. For years, Snow White sleeps in the coffin, untouched and looking as lovely as the day she took the poison. Finally, a handsome prince riding through the forest one day sees the coffin with Snow White inside. He is stunned by her beauty and simply has to take her away to his castle. But as the prince's servants are carrying the coffin, they stumble and jostle it around, causing the poisoned apple piece to dislodge from Snow White's throat! She awakens from her deep sleep, perfectly okay. The prince is overjoyed, and he immediately asks Snow White to marry him.
At the wedding celebration, the Evil Queen shows up in disguise once again, hoping to get rid of Snow White once and for all. But the dwarfs recognize her wicked scheme, and they chase her up a mountain until she is forced over a cliff edge. At last, Snow White is finally free from her evil stepmother forever! Her dreams come true as she marries her beloved prince and they live happily ever after.
I love this fairy tale so much because it has everything – adventure, true friendship, talking animals, evil villains, and good conquering over wickedness in the end. Whenever I read it, I
imagine myself as Snow White, making friends with all the cuddly forest creatures and being as sweet and kind as her. Her life is so magical and exciting!
My favorite character is definitely Snow White herself. She is the perfect princess – pretty, gentle, caring, and brave even when facing danger in the dark forest. Her sweet voice can charm anyone, even the grumpiest dwarf! I admire how she doesn't get mad at the Evil Queen for trying to kill her, she just stays positive. Snow White is so pure of heart. I hope I can be as good and kindhearted as her.
The other characters I adore are the lovable seven dwarfs. They are all so funny with their different personalities. Grumpy is my favorite because he tries so hard to act tough, but he has a soft spot for Snow White just like the others. And you can't help but laugh at silly Dopey's antics! I think it would be so much fun to live with them and go mining for diamonds and jewels. Their cozy little cottage seems like the perfect home.
Of course, the Evil Queen is a terrifying villain. She is vain, cruel and relentless in her pursuit of killing Snow White out of pure jealousy. I'll never understand why she couldn't just appreciate her own beauty instead of being so obsessed with Snow White's. I'm always scared but excited when she appears
on the page in her creepy disguises. You never know what sinister trick she has up her sleeve next!
Above all, I love the happy ending where good triumphs over evil. It makes me feel hopeful, like if I stay brave and good like Snow White, all my dreams can come true too. The fairy tale teaches that inner beauty and kindness are what's truly important, not just pretty looks. It reminds me that friendship, working together, and staying determined can help you get through any hardship or darkness in life.
Whenever I'm having a bad day, I re-read Snow White and it cheers me up instantly. The vivid descriptions of the magical forest and cozy cottage make me feel like I'm actually there. I can picture the dwarfs marching home from the mines and Snow White singing with her forest animal friends so clearly in my mind. I'll never get tired of this story!
Snow White is more than just my favorite book – it's a treasured part of my childhood. No matter how old I get, I'll always love escaping into the wondrous, fairytale world between the pages. It's a timeless classic that fills my heart with warmth, happiness, and hope. I can't wait to read it again and again, and someday share it with children of my own. For me, Snow White will always be the most enchanting story of all.
